PRISHTINA (FIBA U18 European Championship 2018, Division C) - FIBA Executive Director Europe, Kamil Novak was on Friday morning welcomed by the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Mr Ramush Haradinaj.

The meeting was also attended by former President of the Kosovo Basketball Federation, Mr Erolld Belegu; as well current President, Arben Fetahu, and Secretary General, Ms Elvira Dushku, and Mrs Radmila Turner, FIBA Head of National Federations and Youth Europe.

During a fruitful conversation, basketball and the continued development of it within FIBA Europe's newest Federation was the main talking point.

"Considering that Kosovo only became a FIBA member in 2015, we have already seen good progress in basketball in the country," commented Novak. "The senior men's team was involved in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Qualifiers, they have a strong women's youth program and now, we are here as they host their first youth event.

"The event to date has been a great success."

Kosovo will be represented in the Semi-Finals on Saturday, when they take on Ireland, whilst Cyprus meet Monaco in the second Semi-Final.
