FIBA Asia events calendar update 

BEIRUT (Lebanon) - FIBA and its Regional Office Asia have carefully evaluated the planning and organization of its upcoming Asia events in consultation with the FIBA Asia Board as well as key stakeholders and partners. This evaluation has taken into consideration multiple aspects such as current travel restrictions, the well-being of the participants, fan access and experience, and the objective of ensuring the highest quality of events. Having concluded this process, the following calendar update of FIBA Asia events was confirmed: 

FIBA Asia Cup: 

The FIBA Asia Cup 2021 will be played as planned in Jakarta, Indonesia, but is rescheduled to July 2022, right after the window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Asia Qualifiers. 

A total of 13 teams have already qualified for the premiere continental event, the last three places will be determined via two Qualifying Tournaments for third-ranked teams to be played in the second part of August 2021. 

FIBA Women’s Asia Cup: 

The FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2021 – Division A will be played from 27 September to 3 October 2021, in Amman, Jordan, where a successful FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers bubble was recently organized.

The Jordanian Basketball Federation will also organize the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2021 – Division B, between 7-13 November 2021.
