Dillon Brooks led the way for Canada with 28 points while Justin Jackson added nine points, nine rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks as the North Americans improved on their sixth placed finishes in 1987 and 2013.
Italy grabbed sixth place as they returned to the U19 Worlds for the first time since 1995.
Australia got 31 points from Tanner Krebs as the Oceania powers took seventh place with a 103-72 victory over Spain.
Ninth place went to Serbia, who beat Argentina, 77-76, on a three-pointer by Vanja Marinkovic at the buzzer. Marinkovic ended with 18 points and Vojislav Stojanovic had 16 points.
Egypt matched their best-ever finish by beating Korea, 101-88, for 11th place. Mohamed Taha Ibrahim Mohamed scored 27 points while Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed collected 22 points and 13 rebounds for the Africans.
Dominican Republic capped off their first appearance in the tournament since 1983 in fine fashion by beating Iran, 71-50, with Andres Feliz scoring 21 points.
China also won their final game as they beat Tunisia, 80-68, in the game for 15th place with Zhao Rui collecting 25 points and eight assists.
Tunisia took last place as the only team in the competition without a victory.
FIBA
