Another successful Women’s Summit concludes in Slovenia

POSTOJNA (FIBA European Women's Basketball Summit) – 125 female players, coaches and referees converged in Postojna, Slovenia, for the annual FIBA European Women's Basketball Summit.
The 12th edition of the camp, which took place from July 1-7, 2018, saw participants come together from across Europe to demonstrate their talents, learn new skills, and meet like-minded enthusiasts from around the continent.
Throughout the seven-day summit, participants were able to achieve their goals by attending workshops, and by participating in basketball games.
On hand to assist with the mentoring and workshops was FIBA Women's EuroBasket champion coach Marina Maljkovic; Slovenian national team player Teja Oblak; FIBA Head of National Federations and Sport/Youth and Anti-Doping Europe, Radmila Turner; Head of the FIBA Europe Coaching Department, Michael Schwarz; Head of FIBA Europe Refereeing Department, Davorin Nakic; and Basketball Champions League referees, Ozlem Yalman and Jasmina Juras.

The camp coincided with the FIBA Europe TIME OUT program, with the students attending one of their workshops, also in the picturesque corner of Slovenia. Workshop attendees Raffaella Masciadri, Katalin Honti, Jovana Vukoje, Natasa Kovacevic, Elvira Dushku, Nadia Mossong, Katerina Sotiriou and Anna Barthold joined the camp participants in time for the Closing Ceremony, and to hand out the awards.
Earning the awards were Finland's Petriina Niininen who was named Most Improved Player; Urte Cizauskaite who won Summit MVP; Hungary's Cecilia Toth took home the Best Referee award; whilst Sona Camara Kinti of Denmark was named Best Coach.
