FIBA Intercontinental Cup 2022 draw to take place on January 15
CAIRO (Egypt) - The FIBA Intercontinental Cup 2022 draw ceremony will take place in the Egyptian city of Giza at 10:30 GMT (12:30 local time) on Saturday, January 15.
CAIRO (Egypt) - The FIBA Intercontinental Cup 2022 draw ceremony will take place in the Egyptian city of Giza at 10:30 GMT (12:30 local time) on Saturday, January 15.
The draw will determine the Semi-Final pairings of the event which tips off in Cairo on February 11 with the two Semi-Finals, and concludes two days later with the Final and the 3rd-Place Game.
The four contenders in the 2022 edition are tournament hosts and Basketball Africa League inaugural season champions Zamalek SC, Basketball Champions League Americas 2020-21 winners Flamengo, NBA G League 2020-21 champions Lakeland Magic and Basketball Champions League 2020-21 winners Hereda San Pablo Burgos, who are also the current FIBA Intercontinental Cup title holders.

The distinguished panel that will conduct the draw is comprised of FIBA Africa Zone 5 president Hesham El-Hariri, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy, Egyptian Basketball federation president Magdy Abou Frekha and BCL CEO Patrick Comninos.
The draw ceremony will also unveil Egyptian soccer legend Mido as the ambassador of this year’s event, which marks a landmark moment as it is the first time in the history of the competition that it will take place in an African country.
