    Poland open account, cruise by Iceland

    HELSINKI (EuroBasket 2017) - A dominant Poland won their first game of the competition over winless Iceland in Group A action on Game Day 2.

    HELSINKI (EuroBasket 2017) -  Poland have won their first game of the tournament with a decisive 91-61 victory over winless Iceland in Group A action on Game Day 2.

    Poland's size advantage overwhelmed Iceland as they built a decisive early lead and cruised to victory in a one-sided second-half. Captain Adam Waczynski was superb with 15 points and 6 rebounds, while Hordur Vilhjalmsson tried hard for Iceland with 16 points. 

    Despite the sizeable loss, a large army of Iceland fans made plenty of noise throughout, including Iceland President Gudni Johannesson.
