    Five teams advance to Second Round, Bakken stun Porto in double OT

    Balkan Botevgrad, Casademont Zaragoza, Legia Warszawa, Niners Chemnitz and Surne Bilbao Basket were all confirmed as group winners as they will head onto the next phase of the competition.

    Balkan Botevgrad were the first team to punch their ticket thanks an 85-79 win over Arconic-Alba Fehervar. Mikey Dixon paced the winners with 26 points with a chance to complete a perfect 4-0 next week.


    Surne Bilbao Basket's narrow 73-68 win away to BC CSU Sibiu, coupled with Anwil Wloclawek’s 93-72 success over Caledonia Gladiators saw the Spanish side through with the reigning champions keeping their own hopes alive.

    Legia Warszawa’s impressive run in Group J has seen them punch their ticket as 21 points and 6 rebounds from Christian Vital saw the Polish side beat Patrioti Levice 74-63.

    And thanks to 20 points, which included 5 three-pointers, Wesley Van Beck led Niners Chemnitz to a 97-75 win over PGE Spojnia Stargard in Group H.

    There were also two overtime thrillers as Bakken Bears outlasted FC Porto 113-99 after two extra periods to secure their first win with the competition's all-time leading scorer Michel Diouf coming up clutch for the home side at the end of regulation.


    Meanwhile, Itelyum Varese grabbing a 109-104 road win over BG Gottingen to deny the German side from advancing. Hanlan was particularly impressive for the Italians with a 29 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds in a crucial victory, though Gottingen retain control of the group courtesy of holding the head-to-head.

    Casademont Zaragoza had their place at the top of Group F cemented when BC Kalev/Cramo fell to an 82-69 loss at Happy Casa Brindisi as Xavier Sneed posted 29 points.
