The continental aspirations of the teams who fell just one step short of the BCL Regular Season will shift over to the FIBA Europe Cup, as they joined 34 other European clubs in the Regular Season of the competition.
Three of the teams, Tsmoki-Minsk (BLR), Lukoil Academic (BUL) and BC Tartu (EST), took part in the inaugural edition of the FIBA Europe Cup last season, reaching the Round of 32.
Meanwhile, U-BT Cluj Napoca (ROU) will get their first taste of the FIBA Europe Cup this season as they prepare for their debut.
This is already the second group of BCL sides that have transferred to the FIBA Europe Cup.
SL Benfica (POR), Donar Groningen (NED), Sodertalje Kings (SWE), FC Porto (POR), Petrolina AEK (CYP), Rilski Sportist (BUL), KK Igokea (BIH) and Prievidza (SVK) merged into the FIBA Europe Cup ranks after the first stage of the BCL Qualification Round.
The new FIBA Europe Cup season will commence on Tuesday, 18 October 2016.
