MATOSINHOS (FIBA U20 Women's European Championship 2017) – The women's basketball family was following closely as powerhouse Spain faced first-time finalists Slovenia in Sunday's gold medal game at the FIBA U20 Women's European Championship 2017.
At the end of the night, it was once more the Spanish side lifting the trophy following a 73-63 success, clinching their sixth title at U20 level in seven years. As Marta Hermida figured the following morning, it was not a dream.
Senior international Silvia Dominguez has started the medal count for the summer and given Spain's pedigree in youth basketball, she might require some more characters for her next tweet.

2017: 🥇Senior 🥇 U20...
The senior men's team were also among the first to congratulate the team on their title defense, taking a break from their FIBA EuroBasket 2017 preparations.

Pau Gasol is still to join his teammates ahead of FIBA EuroBasket 2017, but did not miss the opportunity to send his congratulations from a distance.
Muchas felicidades campeonas!! #SomosEquipo 💪🏼🥇👏🏼 https://t.co/3MXqgLKPEc

Meanwhile, the players themselves have established their very own way of celebrating…
Looking familiar? Here are Maria Cazorla and Angela Salvadores following their gold medal success at the FIBA U18 Women's European Championship 2015. Our gut feeling tells us we might get to see these underpants again at a FIBA Women's EuroBasket in the coming years...
CAMPEOOOONAAAAS DE EUROPAAAAAAA!!! #bragasdelasuerte @maitecazorla5 pic.twitter.com/MguAopDuph

Slovenia are yet to make a habit of winning medals, but the future looks bright with a first-ever FIBA Women's EuroBasket appearance in June and an U20 silver medal in July. When you write history for your country, you simply have to smile, right?
If there is any further motivation needed for all upcoming campaigns, what's better than having Goran Dragic as a supporter?
Congrats to both teams!!! Girls 🇸🇮 is proud !!!! 👏🏼👏🏼💪🏼 https://t.co/NT7qgdxK6I
