    Double celebration for Montenegro star Lekovic who lands MVP honors

    SKOPJE (North Macedonia) - A driving force behind Montenegro finishing top of the podium at the FIBA U20 Women's European Championship Division B, Marija Lekovic locked down the tournament MVP award.

    SKOPJE (North Macedonia) - A driving force behind Montenegro finishing top of the podium at the FIBA U20 Women's European Championship Division B, Marija Lekovic locked down the tournament MVP award.

    The guard was unstoppable at times and she was a worthy champion after her team took down Turkey 98-56. She was the heartbeat for the winners throughout the competition and averaged 14.5 points, 4.3 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.

    Lekvic was joined in the All-Star Five by her teammate Jovana Savkovic who claimed 14 points, 3 assists and 2.6 boards per game - as well as shooting 56 percent from the field.

    Sude Yilmaz was central to Turkey gaining promotion and while they ultimately had to settle for second place, she was highly influential with 10 points. 3.8 boards and 2.8 assists per game.

    Yarden Garzon had an epic tournament for third placed Israel, posting a brilliant 20 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.7 steals per contest.

    Manca Vrecer took the last spot in the All-Star Five for fourth placed Slovenia, having harvested 11.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per outing.
