    Vehka-aho takes home MVP after just missing out on title

    PRISHTINA (Kosovo) - Lotta Vehka-aho was named MVP after starring as the leading scorer at the FIBA U20 Women's European Championship 2019, Division B with Finland just missing out on the title.

    PRISHTINA (Kosovo) - Lotta Vehka-aho was named MVP after starring as the leading scorer at the FIBA U20 Women's European Championship 2019, Division B with Finland just missing out on the title.

    The point guard put up 18.5 points per game along with 3.5 assists and was joined in the All-Star Five by teammate Awak Kuier, who almost led Finland to the title with 31 points and 11 rebounds in the Final.

    Kuier was second in scoring with 18.2 points as well as ranking in the top five in rebounds and blocks, having been MVP during Finland's success at the FIBA U18 Women's European Championship, Division B last month.

    There was double celebration for Bulgaria's Karina Konstantinova after also making the lineup having put up 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists during her side's title-winning triumph.

    Claire Melia produced an impressive display to deliver bronze and final promotion ticket for Ireland and saw her performances recognized after posting a double-double in each of her six outings.

    Great Britain's Holly Winterburn also made the lineup after averaging 18.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists with her side just missing out on a place on the podium.
