Spearheading All-Star Five, Sabally reels in MVP award

EILAT (FIBA U20 Women’s European Championship 2017, Division B) - Germany standout Satou Sabally picked up the Most Valuable Player honors at the FIBA U20 Women’s European Championship 2017, Division B in Eilat, also headlining the tournament’s top performers in the All-Star Five.
The 19-year-old forward paced her team to the title with 19 points and 6 rebounds in the Final against Slovak Republic after going a perfect 10-of-10 from the free-throw stripe along the way.

Sabally finished the tournament with great all around numbers, averaging 16.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.4 steals per game for a team-high efficiency ranking of 18.7.
Tournament runners-up Slovak Republic were represented in the All-Star Five by forward Miroslava Mistinova, there was no match for Croatia’s electric backcourt partnership of Ana Petrak and Josipa Silov, while Maria Fasoula of Greece was also recognized for her outstanding play.
Germany, Slovak Republic and Croatia, the three teams on the FIBA U20 Women’s European Championship 2017, Division B podium, will be back in Division A after earning promotion this year in Israel.
