Over the course of the FIBA U20 European Championship, the 56 games played attracted more than 4.1 million views across all FIBA platforms, with the Final, between hosts Greece and Israel, peaking at 88,118 concurrent views during the fourth quarter, more than doubling the previous record for a YouTube.com/FIBA live stream.
During the Final, the official tournament hashtag, #FIBAU20Europe, was trending in Greece.
The overall views of the Final was more than 380,000 across all FIBA platforms.
The Final and Third-Place Game were streamed with commentary on Facebook, using Spalk, the crowd-funded commentary platform, with recognized commentator Catrell Maclin calling the plays.
This is the second summer that FIBA has shown all FIBA European Youth Championship Division A games on YouTube.com/FIBA, this year further extending the coverage to include all Division B tournaments as well.
20 games from throughout the tournament were also streamed live on facebook.com/FIBA, as well as on many Federation Facebook pages.
The coverage will continue in Europe on Friday, when the FIBA U18 European Championship, Division B, tips-off in Tallinn, Estonia.
