    Turkey v France

    ...

Turkey were perhaps the most convincing of the sides to top their groups during the first phase of the competition but in France, face a team that are more of a match for their size and athleticism.

    Finland v Lithuania

    ...

The Finnish feel-good factor grew further following an impressive victory against France on Tuesday. Lithuania must put together a more complete performance than they did against Germany, in their final group game, if they are to reach the last eight.

    Serbia v Italy

    ...

It is difficult to predict which Serbia and which Italy will turn up for this game. Both have shown only glimpses of their true potential, interspersed with periods of sloppy play. Knowing their place in the competition is at stake could sharpen their focus, however, and make for a very entertaining contest.

    Germany v Israel

    ...

Israel were a shadow of the side that overturned Finland and France as they were beaten in their final Group B game on Tuesday. Germany on the other hand were inspired to a come-from-behind win against Lithuania by 1998-born Kostja Mushidi, and they may just feel this gives them the platform to go on and do something special.

    Sweden v Latvia

    ...

Sweden’s post presence was too much for Italy as they climbed to second spot in Group D. Latvia may be better equipped to deal with that frontline, however, meaning adjustments could be required.

    Czech Republic v Slovenia

    ...

The Czechs fell away after a strong start to their third and final group game. Similarly, Slovenia gave up a healthy lead against Serbia. Mental toughness, and the ability to recover from that disappointment could be a key factor in this one.

    Ukraine v Belgium

    ...

Ukraine found another level, seemingly from nowhere, in fighting back from 23 points down to beat Latvia and top Group C on Tuesday. Belgium, despite being locked into fourth position in Group D, showed great spirit in coming from behind to see off Czech Republic.

    Spain v Hungary

    ...

Hungary gave a much better account of themselves in their final Group A game, albeit this was still far from sufficient to trouble Turkey. They must build on those positives if they are to have any hope of causing a dangerous Spanish side problems.
