After being handed a Semi-Final upset by tournament hosts Cyprus, the 6ft 9in (2.06m) center made sure his side didn't return home empty-handed by posting 31 points, 20 rebounds and 5 blocks in the third-place game, as Malta edged Moldova 68-61.
Cassar was by far the most dominant player in the tournament, averaging an otherworldly 28.8 points, 23.6 rebounds and 3.6 blocks per game, good for an average efficiency ranking of 41.6.
Having celebrated gold in the tournament, Norway had two representatives in the All-Star Five in Simon Muller-Landsvik and Mikal Gjerde, after picking up an 84-53 victory against Cyprus in the title bout.
Avgoustinos Sofroniou of runners-up Cyprus and Moldova standout Victor Legosin were also recognized with individual honors, rounding out the list of the best FIBA U18 European Championship 2017, Division C players.
