ORADEA (Romania) - We are all set for the Knockout Phase and the hunt for top three places in the FIBA U18 European Championship, Division B in Romania. Israel and North Macedonia are still perfect in this tournament, the only two teams to reach the Quarter-Finals on 5-0 records.
Poland's first defeat was costly, but not for them - for Belgium. Estonia's 63-59 win over Poland created a three-way tie in which Poland kept their first place, Estonia got to second, while Belgium dropped out because of their -22 defeat to Poland earlier in the tournament.
There was another three-way tie at 4-1, but Belarus' last day win over Sweden did no difference to the standings on Wednesday. Belarus won 84-83, but Portugal and Sweden stayed in front of them in the standings tab of our website here.
With all the group games out of the way, we are now set for the Quarter-Finals battles. Poland takes on Georgia, with the winner advancing to the Semi-Finals for a date with the better of Portugal and Czech Republic. North Macedonia are up against Estonia, while Sweden are testing Israel's 5-0 run to the Knock-out Phase.
