Aslanian takes MVP honors, headlines All-Star Five

GIBRALTAR (FIBA U16 Women's European Championship 2017, Division C) - Anna Aslanian kept growing game-by-game, and her Final triple-double secured her the MVP honors.
Aslanian takes home the trophy after averaging 17.4 points, 16.2 rebounds, 3.6 blocks and 3.6 assists per game for the gold medal winners Armenia. She scored in double digits in every single game, including a monster performance in the Final, with 22 points, 31 rebounds and 12 blocks.
Joining her in the All-Star Five are Mariam Okropiridze, Agnesa Rrahmani, Mireya Benitez Lopez and Michela Zammit Cordina. Okropiridze had 32 points for Georgia in the Third-Place Game, hitting 6-of-13 from the great beyond, and her tournament averages were 19.0 points and 6.0 assists per outing.
Rrahmani had an even better scoring night than Okropiridze, putting up 34 points for Kosovo against Monaco. With 20.3 points per game, she made a gigantic 16-point leap from her 2016 average at the same event.
Benitez Lopez was the best home-team player, finishing with 16.8 points and 13.8 rebounds per game, and closing out the All-Star Five is Malta's Zammit Cordina. The point guard was consistent in her efforts, with 12.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. Perhaps the most impressive part of her game was on the defensive end. She picked up 15 steals, giving her an average of 3.8 per game.
