ZVVZ USK Prague and Fenerbahce snap up remaining Final Four tickets

MUNICH (EuroLeague Women) - There was joy for ZVVZ USK Prague and Fenerbahce as both booked a return to the Final Four after they each won their Quarter-Finals deciders.

ZVVZ USK Prague were the first to book their ticket back to the season finale as they shrugged off an early 13-point deficit in Orenburg to storm back and take a 70-57 win against local favorites Nadezhda.

The home side were hampered by the absence of injured star center Amanda Zahui and Prague took full advantage to make it three Final Four appearances in succession.

Marta Xargay was the main instigator of their comeback as she scored 15 points in the first half, while Sonja Petrovic was outstanding with 18 points and Candice Dupree amassed a double-double of 21 points and 10 boards.

"Before this match, I thought that we had equal chances of victory," said a delighted Prague head coach, Natalia Hejkova.

"Nadezhda traditionally play very strongly at home and that was shown during the first quarter.

"Our return [from our slow start] came in the second quarter and we showed everything that we are capable of."

Fenerbahce also endured a slow start, but soon warmed up to avenge their loss in Salamanca with an 87-80 win against Perfumerias Avenida.

It was shooting guard Alexandria Quigley who eventually killed off the valiant Spanish visitors after producing one of the most eye-catching displays of the entire EuroLeague Women season.

She poured in 28 points and dished out eight assists in a sensational display, while Jantel Lavender and Sandrine Gruda did the business in the paint by sharing 32 points.

ZVVZ USK Prague and Fenerbahce will join reigning champions UMMC Ekaterinburg and Dynamo Kursk at next month's Final Four.
