SOPRON (EuroLeague Women) - Yvonne Turner is to remain with Uniqa Sopron for another two years after being rewarded for her strong start to the season.

The guard made the switch from Wisla Can-Pack during the summer and has proven to be an instant hit with her team-mates, the fans and the management and the club.

"My feelings during this moment are happiness, being grateful and thankful," smiled Turner after putting pen to paper on the new deal.

"I feel lucky that I can support a team who believes in my talent and knowledge on the court.

"We have a great team-spirit and we fight until the end of the games! We always concentrate for the next step and that is now to reach our third victory of the EuroLeague Women season."

She continued, "We feel the support of our fans, and I hope that after the Regular Season we can celebrate together that we reached the next stage of EuroLeague Women or EuroCup Women."

Meanwhile Managing Director, Zoltan Torok is thrilled to be hanging on to Turner for longer and added, "Maybe most of the fans will question why we have signed a new contract with a player after only after few months?

"The answer is easy. It's because we found a player who has shown us during this short period, that we can build around her!

"We believe, that the duo of Yvonne and Zsofi (Fegyveneky) give us a strong base to reach our future aims, and together they will give us the style of our team for a long time," he added.

Uniqa Sopron and Turner face Perfumerias Avenida on their home floor on Wednesday.
