MUNICH (EuroLeague Women) - We catch up with some of those involved in Week 6 of the Regular Season and check out how it played out on social media.
One of the biggest wins of the week came in Salamanca where Perfumerias Avenida moved to 4-2 with yet another home win as they continue to make Pabellon Wurzburg a fortress.
Their latest success witnessed them beat Bourges 63-50 with Krisi Givens exceptional and quick to praise the contribution of the club's loyal followers.
"We owe every victory to our fans, they are amazing," she stressed.
"We need to fight every game here for them, they are the sixth player every day and we have to give this effort back on the court.
"I don t know if we are going to be able to advance to the next round, but if we win every game at home and we 'sneak' one game away, then maybe we will be lucky," added Givens.
Fans of ESBVA-LM showed their appreciation for their favourites as they stormed past CCC Polkowice 75-55 off the back of a stunning 37 points from Alina Iagupova - the highest tally of any player this season. It was also a result that left Valeriane Ayayi particularly happy!
Dynamo Kursk preserved the only perfect record still remaining in the competition as they came from behind to record a 79-75 triumph at Beretta Famila Schio.
Angel McCoughtry top-scored for the visitors with 18 points but was quick to praise her short-handed opponents for having pushed Kursk hard. Even if she was panicking about who was going to translate what she was saying!
"Schio played a great game without a player like [Isabelle] Yacoubou and they had a great performance with players like [Jolene] Anderson and [Laura] Macchi.
"But, we came out into the last quarter with a great shooting percentage."
The game also involved Schio forward Endene Miyem facing her old club, having spent last season with the Russians. The French star expressed her pride at her team's performance.
"We played a great game and we're sorry for this loss," stated Miyem.
"But without [Isabelle] Yacoubou, [Nuria] Martinez and [Giulia] Gatti, I think we couldn't do much more, but only learn things from the match."
Finally, it was quite a trek for Uniqa Sopron to Antakya for Thursday's game with Hatay which had to be put back a couple of hours due to the Hungarian club's late arrival in the city after some airport delays.
But their lengthy stopover at the airport in Istanbul did at least give them a chance to spread the word about EuroLeague Women and they clearly gained a few new fans!
