Polkowice win OT classic; Landes get rolling and Zaragoza take Spanish derby honors

Elsewhere, DVTK HUN-Therm and Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding both got the victories they needed to stay flawless and move to 5-0 perfect records, while ZVVZ USK Praha posted a late surge to move to 4-1, with Beretta Famila Schio beating the still winless LDLC ASVEL Feminin. Meanwhile in the only game to be played on Wednesday, Cukurova Basketbol Mersin outlasted Virtus Segafredo Bologna.

Polkowice outlast Gyor in overtime thriller
It is probably in the running for game of the season so far and certainly those who watched it would cast their positive vote after KGHM BC Polkowice beat Secro UNI Gyor 92-82 in overtime. It was an excellent advertisement for the competition.
Weronika Gajda was immense for the victorious hosts, handing out a season-high 13 assists in the competition, while also scoring 15 points. It was Dragana Stankovic who starred with a cameo alongside her teammate, collating an efficient double-double of 12 points and 12 boards, while Brittney Sykes and Zala Friskovec shared 36 points.
Landes finally off the mark
It was fifth time lucky for Basket Landes as they claimed a first victory of the campaign and they did it in style too, with an emphatic 69-48 success at home to Perfumerias Avenida. A 28-13 opening 10 minutes saw the confidence flowing for the French team and while their opponents rallied briefly, Landes always looked comfortable.
A powerful team display on the glass was essential. with Sam Fuehring grabbing 10 boards. while Angela Salvadores top scored with 13 points.
Casademont Zaragoza shutdown Spanish rivals
The Game of the Week pitched Casademont Zaragoza against rivals Valencia Basket Club and the former took Spanish derby honors 59-47. A fine 18-6 second period put them into the ascendancy and they never looked back after their defense locked down the visitors.

Another big crowd made plenty of noise as their team improved to 3-2, helped as usual by another leading display from Germany's Leonie Fiebich - stepping off court with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.
A high five for DVTK
The super season of DVTK HUN-Therm continued as they stretched their unbeaten run to five games as they rolled past ACS Sepsi-SIC 80-68 on the road. With the contest well balanced at 20-20 after the opening quarter, the Hungarians put their foot on the gas ahead of the break.
A 24-12 period snapped the game open and they were able to stay flawless thanks mainly to a vibrant and energetic display from Nina Aho. The guard finished with 16 points on a perfect shooting night and handed out 5 assists. Meanwhile, Ellen Nystrom impressed again for Sepsi-SIC with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals to her name.
Wednesday November 1
Cukurova Mersin Basketbol enjoyed what was arguably their best result of the season so far on Wednesday night after leaving Italy clutching a precious victory.
They eased past Segafredo Virtus Bologna 73-65 to improve to 4-1 in Group B and overhaul their rivals who fall to 3-2. It was Marina Mabrey who proved to be a difference-maker as she fueled the visitors with an eye-catching contribution of 23 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds.

Cukurova also prospered from making 10 triples in the game, while Alina Iagupova supported the headline grabbing effort of her teammate with 17 points, 7 boards and 4 assists. Meanwhile Cecilia Zandalasini put up 22 points in defeat, with Virtus also rocked by a worrying injury to their highly productive Croatian guard, Ivana Dojkic.
