ISTANBUL (Turkey) - Perfumerias Avenida got off to the perfect start after they toppled  Group A rivals Nadezhda in their EuroLeague Women season-opener.

Facing his former employers and one that he took all the way to the Final in 2016, Avenida playcaller Roberto Iniguez watched his team take the early initiative and had no cause to look back in a  dominant 70-42 success.

Missing out on the first day action in the Istanbul hub due to the non-participation of Izmit Belediyespor, Avenida looked full of energy in the only Gameday 2 contest to be played on Wednesday.

Tiffany Hayes stood out for the winning side as she sunk 21 points after shooting almost 70 percent in the game. Emese Hof also impressed with a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Only Monique Billings made it into double figures for Nadezhda, with 11 points as they tasted defeat for the first time after failing to build on heir shock opening day victory against Dynamo Kursk.

They will end the hub with a 1-1 record in Group A, while Avenida will be hoping to add another win to their tally in their next game against Dynamo Kursk on Friday, December 4.
