MUNICH (Germany) - There were confidence-boosting wins on Thursday night for Sopron Basket and LDLC Asvel Feminin as the duo both breathed added life into their prospects for the remainder of the Regular Season.
Sopron attained only their second victory in eight games as they ripped apart Spar Citylift Girona. They led by as many as 28 points before the visitors added a touch more respectability to the final 66-56 result via a late surge.
Jelena Brooks harvested 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side who improved to 4-6, while Adaora Elonu registered 12 points and 12 rebounds in defeat.
Meanwhile, LDLC Asvel Feminin are enjoying the new calendar year with impressive back-to-back victories. They sneaked a win last week at Girona but were out of sight in what proved to be a one-sided 85-48 success against Famila Schio.

With the confidence now flowing, Lyon raced out of the blocks and never looked back as they locked down their opponents to move to a 5-5 record. Helena Ciak brought the noise with a superb shooting display, going 7-of-8 from the field for 14 points and completing a double-double with 11 rebounds.
The wheels certainly came crashing off for Famila Schio, who had beaten Dynamo Kursk impressively in their previous outing, but clearly suffered from the loss of the influential American Diamond DeShields, who has been ruled out with a long-term injury.
