MUNICH (Germany) - The eight teams that make up the field of this season’s EuroCup Women were confirmed on Wednesday night, upon the conclusion of Round of 8 action.

The French duo of Tango Bourges and LDLC ASVEL Feminin and Turkey’s CBK Mersin Yenisehir Bld picked up the three tickets to the Quarter-Finals that were still up for grabs going into the final night of the Round of 8.

Bourges defeated Olympiacos S.F.P. 76-59 to win both legs against the Greek side, ASVEL prevailed 78-54 over AZS UMCS Lublin after the reverse fixture in Poland had finished all tied at 66, while Mersin picked up a second win, 95-66, over Ukraine’s Prometey.

Reigning EuroCup Women champions Valencia BC were the first club to earn a Quarter-Finals berth, after edging out Poland’s Polkowice in February.

Umana Reyer of Italy, Basket Landes of France, Galatasaray of Turkey and KSC Szekszard of Hungary are the four teams that transfer to the EuroCup Women Quarter-Finals from the EuroLeague Women Regular Season.

Galatasaray and Szekszard are replacing TTT Riga and Spar Girona, as those two teams will continue in the EuroLeague Women Quarter-Finals following the decision on the suspension of Russian clubs by the FIBA Europe Executive Committee.

The eight Quarter-Finalists are (in alphabetical order): Basket Landes (FRA), CBK Mersin Yenisehir Bld (TUR), Galatasaray (TUR), KSC Szekszard (HUN), LDLC ASVEL Feminin (FRA), Tango Bourges (FRA), Umana Reyer Venezia (ITA) and Valencia BC (ESP).

The Quarter-Final pairings will be determined following a draw that will take place at 14:00 CET on March 3, and all four ties will be played over two legs, in home-and-away games.

Teams are offered two scheduling options for their Quarter-Final ties: One option would see them play the first leg on March 10 and the second on March 17, while the other option would be for the two legs to take place on March 15 and March 18, respectively.

The winners of the Quarter-Finals will qualify to the Final Four, which is scheduled for April 5-7, 2022.
