MUNICH (Germany) - The Palais des Sports du Prado in the French city of Bourges was announced on Wednesday as the venue of the EuroCup Women Final Four, that is set to take place from April 5-7.

'Le Palais des Sports', as the arena with a capacity of 5,000 is referred to among Bourges residents, will serve as the stage of a title-deciding game for the second time in competition history. It played host to the return leg of the home-and-away Final in 2015-16 and on that occasion Tango Bourges defeated fellow French side ESBVA-LM 54-53 to win 105-93 on aggregate and be proclaimed champions.

The Palais des Sports du Prado was one of the venues of the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments in 2020

Tango Bourges will be looking to replicate that 2016 success this April, as they take on Galatasaray in the Semi-Finals on Tuesday, April 5. The Turkish powerhouse are the only two-time champions amidst this season's Final Four contenders, as they lifted the trophy in 2009 and 2018.

In the other Semi-Final clash, also on April 5, Turkish up-and-comers CBK Mersin Yenisehir Bld will face off against last season's finalists Umana Reyer Venezia, who are fresh off avenging 2021 champions Valencia Basket in the Quarter-Finals.

This means that, in line with every Final since 2017, the reigning champions will not be present in the title game to get a shot at defending the crown.

The Final and the Third-Place Game will take place on Thursday, April 7.

This is the second year in a row that the EuroCup Women will culminate in a Final Four tournament. In last season's event that was held in Szekszard, Hungary Valencia defeated Umana Reyer 82-81 in the Final and hosts KSC Szekszard prevailed 68-55 over Carolo in the Third-Place Game.
