Home comfort reigns supreme as the Regular Season tips off

All but one of the 10 match-ups witnessed the hosts taking victory as several heavyweights made strong early statements of intent.
Galatasaray and Carolo Basket in particular caught the eye. Bria Hartley had a Galatasaray debut to remember in the competition after her summer move from arch rivals Fenerbahce as the French national team point guard rattled off 17 points in a one-sided 74-55 win against Lulea. Her tally was matched by team-mate Victoria Macaulay.
Carolo Basket strode past Voo Liege Panthers 81-48 as Brazilian center Nadia Colhado claimed 12 points and 15 rebounds, Amel Bouderra pulled the strings to add 10 assists to her 11-point haul and Katie Lou Samuelson secured 16 points on debut. Another French side in the shape of Basket Landes also took victory as they slipped past Cadi La Seu 65-60.
Both DVTK and Olympiacos bounced back from the recent disappointment of being edged out in the EuroLeague Women Qualifiers by getting off to winning starts. The former breezed past Hungarian domestic rivals PEAC Pecs 75-47 and Olympiacos dominated Namur 70-41.
There was homecourt joy in Russia as Belgian national team forward Kyara Linskens led Enisey Krasnoyarsk past MBK Ruzomberok 82-59 as she claimed 14 points, 8 boards and 3 blocks. There was also success for MBA Moscow in front of their fans as they despatched Mabetex Prishtina 90-58 as Anastaia Logunova impressed with a 19-point and 12-rebound double-double.

Elsewhere, Uni Gyor Mely-UT, KSC Szekszard also took home floor victories, which meant it was up to Bellona Kayseri Basketbol to fly the flag for teams on the road. They were the only club who won on their travels and they took a major scalp by beating Polish champions CCC Polkowice 64-59. Croatian center Luca Ivankovic showed out with a brilliant 25 points and 14 boards.
