KSC Szekszard will head into the Round of 16 as one of the favorites. Unbeaten in the Hungarian League and having started the season in the EuroLeague Women Qualifiers, they are highly ambitious and completed the job against CMB Cargo Uni Gyor.

"I can only say congrats to my team, since that was a very important game to win," said head coach, Zeljko Djokic after an 80-67 home success.

"Our players didn't play like they had the 9-point advantage from the previous game, and with this historical win, we would like to wish a very merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all the Szekszard fans," added the playcaller.

It was a similar case for Artego Bydgoszcz, whose supporters will also be about to enjoy the festive break, with Denesha Stallworth passing on her best wishes, having catapulted the team to the next phase with a 75-71 win against DVTK.

"The first half was good for us - even if  their zone slowed us down in the second," mused the forward, who top scored with 23 points.

"So, we did a great job at the beginning and we were the same as our opponents after the break. I wish to thank them for great two games and I am glad that we produced a great show for the fans."

Much of the clubs who have progressed are digesting their next opponents.

Mersin star Gulsah Gumusay is already looking forward to the Round of 16 after taking down MBA Moscow. Even if that means the club's schedule continuing to be busy, she is confident they can make an even deeper run in the tournament.

She stated: "We are happy now, but the Turkish league is not easy and every single week we are playing hard games.

"EuroCup Women will be the hardest, since TTT Riga are a strong team, but we can defeat them in my opinion."
