Girona land a EuroLeague Women and Spain national team legend

GIRONA (EuroCup Women) - Spar Citylift Girona have made a big statement for the 2018-19 campaign after confirming Spanish veteran star Laia Palau has penned a two-year deal with the club.

The EuroLeague Women legend, currently trying to land a French title at Bourges Basket, will return to her native Catalonia region and could well finish her illustrious career with Girona.

The record-breaking Spanish national team playmaker will firstly compete for her country at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Tenerife and look to add to her eye-catching 11 international medals.

The addition of Palau is the third new signing for Girona, after they inked a contract with Keisha Hampton and another Spanish national team player, Bea Sanchez.

This trio will join the returning Nuria Martínez, Nadia Colhado and Roso Buch, who are all back in the line-up for 2018-19.
