MUNICH (EuroCup Women) - We look back at the third week of EuroCup Women and see how it panned out on social media as well as connecting with some of those involved.
One of the teams making an impact so far, and are arguably a surprise package, are Namur.
They are unbeaten and on a roll, after another excellent result, winning 82-72 at CMB Cargo Uni Gyor.
Hatay are also flying right now and they extended their winning streak to 3-0 after completing a 71-53 win at Energa Torun. It was a performance built on a nice shooting effort from Belgian guard, Hind Ben Abdelkader.
"We did not start the game well," she said, after sinking 21 points.
"We knew that our opponent would come out strong. But in the second half, we knew that we were going to also come out strong from the locker room. That is what we did and we got the victory."
There was more joy for another Polish club in Sleza Wroclaw, as they completed a superb comeback victory.
Having trailed Istanbul Universitesi by double-digits at the half, Wroclaw came roaring back to take a 67-58 win.
Gorzow had hoped they might be able to win the battle of the winless clubs when they stepped out at Besiktas, but had to endure an agonizing 66-60 defeat. Without the injured Miah Spencer, Gorzow pushed their opponents hard, only just coming up short.
"We had the chance to win this meeting and the result of the match was not decided until the last minute," bemoaned Slovenian ace Annamaria Prezelj, who scored 15 points.
"Unfortunately in the last few moments there was a lack of wisdom from us and we lost the game."
Another Turkish side, in Mersin, won 69-62 against Enisey Krasnoyarsk in a full team effort.
That is why just about everybody involved in the club squeezed into this great photo afterwards.
On Italian soil, Reyer Venezia had little difficulty breezing past KP Brno 83-52, with lots of praise for teenage forward Sara Madera, who impressed with a nice double-figure return of 10 points.
She said: "It's an honor for me to be playing with more experienced players. It's also a big incentive for me and I have to thank the coach for playing me.
"I feel great with all my teammates and they made me feel part of the team from the very first day."
Meanwhile, even if KP Brno sustained a heavy defeat, they did enjoy seeing the local sights in Venice.
Particularly head coach, David Zdenek.
Elsewhere, TTT Riga were also on the tourist trail in another great city - namely Athens. In contrast however to KP Brno, they came away with an impressive 78-72 victory.
"The game was really tough, since Olympiacos are a really good team with experienced players. Almost all the Greek national team plays for them," mused Ieva Krastina, who stole the show with 22 points and 9 assists.
"I don't know what happened, I just felt good shooting, so I took the shots. We are both good teams and I hope we can meet again in some of the next phases of EuroCup Women," she added.
