    BERLIN (Germany) - Lauri Markkanen produced the best efficiency rating on the first of two days of Quarter-Finals action at FIBA EuroBasket 2022, although it was not enough to send Finland through.

    BERLIN (Germany) - Lauri Markkanen produced the best efficiency rating on the first of two days of Quarter-Finals action at FIBA EuroBasket 2022, although it was not enough to send Finland through.

    The Susijengi talisman finished with a final double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds as well as 3 assists in the 100-90 defeat to Spain in the first game of Tuesday.

    Willy Hernangomez starred in the win for Spain with a personal best of 27 points on 77 percent shooting, whilst also adding 5 rebounds in just 25 minutes of action in helping his side come from 15 points down.

    Meanwhile, Dennis Schroder put up 26 points and 8 assists to lead Germany to a 107-96 triumph against Greece as they reached the last four of EuroBasket for the first time in 17 years.

    The German captain was joined in the lineup by teammate Andreas Obst, who added 19 points on 5-of-7 shooting from three-point range as part of the team's lights out performance from beyond the arc.

    Giannis Antetokounmpo was not able to propel Greece to victory despite a standout individual statline with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists coming in the 11-point loss as their tournament came to an end.
