MUNICH (FIBA EuroBasket 2021 Pre-Qualifiers) – FIBA announced on Thursday, that Cyprus will replace Armenia in the Second Round of the FIBA EuroBasket 2021 Pre-Qualifiers, following the withdrawal of the latter.

The announcement comes following Armenia's decision to opt out of playing in the Second Round, citing financial concerns. Armenia qualified for the Second Round, after being the best second-placed team in the Pre-Qualifiers First Round, which concluded on July 1.

Cyprus now take their spot, based on the fact that they were the next-best second-placed team in the Pre-Qualifiers First Round.

The first window of the Pre-Qualifiers Second Round tips off on September 13.
