It was fifth stop on the ambitious journey that will see the Nikolai Semashko Trophy displayed in all 24 of the countries which will participate in FIBA EuroBasket 2017, beginning September 31.
In Wloclawek, fans had the opportunity to have their photograph taken with the trophy at Game 2 of the Polish Superleague Quarter-Final clash between home team Amil Wloclawek and Energa Czarn, which Ami won by the slightest of margins, 72-70.
Spotted among the throng of fans getting their photo taken with the trophy was Poland national team head coach Mike Taylor, who himself proved to be an excellent photo opportunity.
"The trophy sells itself," exclaimed the coach. "Any time there is a fantastic trophy like the EuroBasket trophy in a gym around basketball fans, it raises the awareness. It gets people excited about the upcoming event."
President of the Polish Superleague, Marcin Widomski, was in agreement with Taylor. "I think for the supporters and the people, who watch the game, the presence of the EuroBasket trophy for sure will enlarge the awareness of the event itself.
"The number of photos which are taken here and the number of people who are trying to just be around it, shows that it is a great idea and more people will see it, so it's better for everybody. For us, for the event and for EuroBasket."
On Sunday, the Nikolai Semashko Trophy was shown off in front of various iconic locations in Warsaw, including in Castle Square; the Nicolaus Copernicus Monument; and the mermaid on Vistula River, the symbol of the city.
