PRAGUE (FIBA EuroBasket 2017 Trophy Tour) - It was an early morning start for the FIBA EuroBasket 2017 Trophy Tour in Prague, with a perfect sunrise capturing the trophy in all its glory.
The Trophy Tour landed in the Czech capital on Sunday, just in time for the 3x3 World Tour Prague Masters final day, where Novi Sad Al Wahda captured their second World Tour title in as many weeks. Sam Dunk, the FIBA EuroBasket trophy's patron guardian, was also on hand, entertaining the crowd with his antics.
People queued for the chance to have their photo with the trophy, and learn more about FIBA EuroBasket, which is now less than a month away from tip-off.
Also present was long-time national team player, and now assistant coach Lubos Barton.
"It's a nice touch by FIBA bringing the trophy here," commented Barton. "It is helping promote basketball around Europe."
He also weighed in on how Czech Republic are shaping up, prior to heading to Cluj-Napoca for the Group Phase.
"It's too early to speak about chances. Obviously, we have a big challenge in front of us. We have a new group of guys and our group is not the easiest one, but it is playable."
The FIBA EuroBasket 2017 Trophy Tour continues on Friday in Belgrade, Serbia then moves on to Tbilisi, Georgia on Sunday.
