    Italy survive Georgia comeback, lock up third place, date with Finland

    TEL AVIV (FIBA EuroBasket 2017) - Italy survived a valiant comeback from Georgia 71-69 to lock up third place in Group B of the FIBA EuroBasket 2017 and set up a Round of 16 date with Finland.

    TEL AVIV (FIBA EuroBasket 2017) - Italy survived a valiant comeback from Georgia 71-69 to lock up third place in Group B of the FIBA EuroBasket 2017 and set up a Round of 16 date with Finland. 

    Italy led by 19 points in the second quarter and were still up by 15 points with seven minutes left before Georgia used a 19-3 run to take the lead. Italy pulled back ahead and Luigi Datome blocked a shot by Giorgi Shermadini in the final second to secure the win. Marco Belinelli paced Italy with 15 points and Datome had 14 points. Michael Dixon paced Georgia with 29 points.
