    Scariolo names Spain's preliminary squad for Qualifiers against Montenegro and Slovenia

    MADRID (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers) - Five members of Spain's team at FIBA EuroBasket 2017 have been included in the 24-player preliminary for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers against Montenegro and Slovenia.

    According to the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB), head coach Sergio Scariolo has called out to Fernando San Emeterio, Pierre Oriola, Sergio Rodriguez, Joan Sastre and Guillem Vives from the Spanish side that came in third at Europe's biggest basketball competition in September.

    The quintet is joined, among others, by a number of rising stars such as Alberto Abalde, Ilimane Diop and Oriol Pauli.

    Spain open their Group A campaign by taking on Montenegro on November 24 in Podgorica.

    Two days later, they will host Europe's reigning champions Slovenia in Burgos in a rematch of a FIBA EuroBasket 2017 Semi-Final.
