    Inaugural Basketball Champions League Asia schedule confirmed

    BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office - Asia has confirmed the schedule for the Basketball Champions League Asia (BCL Asia) on Monday, June 3.

    BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office - Asia has confirmed the schedule for the Basketball Champions League Asia (BCL Asia) on Monday, June 3.

    The inaugural edition of the competition will be played in Dubai, UAE from June 9-15.

    The competition tips off in the Group Phase with a clash between B.LEAGUE champions Hiroshima Dragonflies and representative from Indonesia via the BCL Asia Qualifiers Pelita Jaya Basketball on June 9 at 12:30 (GMT +4).

    The first day of the competition concludes with an exciting clash between Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) champions Liaoning Flying Leopards against FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) champions Al Riyadi from Lebanon at 18:30 (GMT +4).

    Hosts Shabab Al Ahli play their first game on June 10 at 21:30 (GMT +4) against Malaysia's Major Basketball League champions NS Matrix Deers, who qualified via the BCL Asia Qualifiers.

    In the Group Phase, the teams will play in a Round-Robin format within their respective groups for a total of three games each, coming to a conclusion on June 12.

    The top two teams in the standings of each Group will advance to the Semi-Finals which will begin on June 14 after a rest day.

    In the Semi-Finals, the first-place teams from Group A and B will play against the second-place team from the opposite group with both games being played on the same day.

    The winners of each Semi-Finals advance to the Final, set to be played on June 15. The Third-Place game will be played on the same day.

    Games on June 14-15 are scheduled to be at 15:30 (GMT +4) and 18:30 (GMT +4) with the order of the games to be later determined.

    The victor of the Final will be crowned champion of the Basketball Champions League Asia and earn the right to represent the continent at the FIBA Intercontinental Cup.

    BCL Asia is rebranded from the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, Asia's premier club competition.
