    Prometey withdraw from Basketball Champions League

    The Group K of the Basketball Champions League Round of 16  will be a three-team group, following the withdrawal of Ukrainian club Prometey at the end of last week. 

    MIES (Switzerland) - The Group K of the Basketball Champions League Round of 16  will be a three-team group, following the withdrawal of Ukrainian club Prometey at the end of last week. 

    For their first ever participation in the Basketball Champions League, the Ukrainian champions qualified for the Round of 16 after eliminating Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem in the Play-Ins phase, and were in second position with a 2-1 record in their Round of 16 group.

    However, in a statement addressed to the Basketball Champions League on March 5, Prometey announced their inability to continue participating in the competition due to the ongoing situation in Ukraine, and therefore decided to officially withdraw from BCL's season 6. 

    Group K will now be contested by Filou Oostende (BEL), U-BT Cluj-Napoca (ROU), and Unicaja (ESP), as specified by article D.5.1 of the FIBA Official Basketball Rules: "In a tournament where game results in a group are carried over from one phase to another, but a team is withdrawn from the tournament or forfeits for a second time a game for any reason, the results of all games played by the withdrawn or forfeiting team shall be nullified from all relevant phases."

    The group standings are therefore as follows:
