Gearing up to face Great Britain in Leicester on November 24 and then Israel at home in Heraklion three days later, the Greeks have named the majority of the players that struggled at FIBA EuroBasket 2017 before finding their groove in a Round of 16 upset of Lithuania.
The Greeks then lost in a 74-69 heavyweight battle to Russia in the Quarter-Finals. Long-time center Ioannis Bourousis, who now plays in China with Zhejiang Guangsha Lions, is among those named in the preliminary squad.
There are also numerous standouts from clubs playing in the Basketball Champions League, including Dimitris Mavroeidis of AEK Athens.

The veteran center made the Team of the Week after his 18 points and 9 rebounds in Tuesday's 103-101 overtime triumph at Umana Reyer Venezia.
