On the preliminary list, Petrovic kept with six players from the 2016 Brazilian Olympic team, former NBA champion Anderson Varejao and future star of Brazilian basketball in Yago dos Santos.
"We accompanied Anderson Varejão from the beginning of his training. He is ready to play for the Brazilian team. We count on him for these games and we expect him to respond with the quality he has always shown," said Petrovic in the press conference.
"Yago is on the list because of what I saw in the Paulista Championship Final. And not because of what he can offer us in the future. In the games I saw, Yago came off the bench and changed the landscape of the game. He deserves to be in the list," added the coach.
