Rwanda open new African Qualifiers era under new coach Mwiseneza

KIGALI (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 African Qualifiers) - Maxime Mwiseneza has only been in charge of Rwanda national team for a few days, but he is already preparing the team for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 African Qualifiers in June-July.
Over the weekend, Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWABA) confirmed Mwiseneza as a replacement to Moise Mutokambali who coached the East Africans at FIBA AfroBasket 2017 as well as in the first-leg of Group B of the African Qualifiers in Mali.
The Rwandans returned home with two defeats in three games to start the race for next year's FIBA Basketball World Cup, and FERWABA thought it was about time to give the team a new direction.

Mwiseneza, who currently coaches local side Espoir, will have Aime Karim Nkusi as his assistant coach.
FERWABA General Secretary Richard Mutabazi told local daily Rwanda Times: "We trust the two coaches to do a great job. They are not new in the national team, they have previously served as assistant coaches."
Following his appointment, the 34-year-old head coach named a 39-man provisional team, which includes all 12 players who faced Nigeria, Mali and Uganda in Mali two months ago.
