Thailand to showcase Asia’s best clubs in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018

The top 8 professional basketball clubs in Asia have battled their way through regional competition and are now only a few steps away from Asian supremacy. The tournament will be held at Stadium29 in Nonthaburi, Thailand which had also recently hosted the FIBA U18 Asian Championship.
Defending Champions Al-Riyadi are back to defend their title in this year’s competition. The representative of the Lebanese Basketball Federation (LFB) won the FIBA Asia Champions Cup in 2017 by beating China Kashgar, 88-59 in Chenzhou, China.
The other returning clubs from 2017’s tournament are Mono Vampire Basketball Club (Thailand) and Petrochimi (Iran). Last year was Mono Vampire’s first ever appearance in the tournament and they finished at 6th place. Petrochimi finished in 4th place last year after a 3rd place finish in 2016.
The other teams that will be participating in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018 are the Liaoning Flying Leopards (China), Alvark Tokyo (Japan), SK Knights (Korea), San Miguel Beermen (Philippines), and Pauian Archiland (Chinese Taipei).
The action that is expected to erupt in Thailand will be highly intense as these eight teams are the best clubs in each respective nation. Even though they will be playing under the name of their clubs, expect everyone to play for with limitless effort for national pride as they aim to win the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018.
