    Mono Vampire and Pelita Jaya qualify for Road to Final 8 East Asia

    BANGKOK (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018) - Mono Vampire and Pelita Jaya have qualified for the Road to Final 8 East Asia after they finished first and second at the SEABA Champions Cup 2018.

    BANGKOK (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018) - Mono Vampire and Pelita Jaya have qualified for the Road to Final 8 East Asia after they finished first and second at the SEABA Champions Cup 2018.

    Hosts Mono Vampire Basketball Club Thailand swept the competition, racking up three wins in three days to secure their berth to the Road to Final 8 East Asia, which already includes teams from Chinese Taipei and India. Mono Vampire BC beat Singapore Xin Hua Sports Club on Day 1, 77-40, before surviving Red Baron Malaysia, 83-80, on Day 2. The home team completed their sweep with a convincing 94-81 victory over Pelita Jaya Indonesia on the last day.

     

    Speaking of Pelita Jaya, the Indons started the tournament strong with an 83-63 rout of Red Baron Malaysia before scuttling Singapore Xin Hua SC, 96-70 ,on Day 2. They fell way short against Mono Vampire BC, though, and ended up with a 2-win, 1-loss card. Pelita Jaya finished second overall and also punched their tickets to the Road to Final 8 East Asia.

    The top team of the Road to Final 8 East Asia will qualify for the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018 Final 8.
