BANGKOK (FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Women 2016) - The unprecedented happened just today when Indonesia beat Malaysia, 74-54, and consequently swept all their Level II games at the FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Women 2016. By virtue of that, the Indons finished atop Level II and opened the door for a chance to get promoted to Level I for the first time ever. The young Indonesian ladies were understandably exuberant on the court, but their celebrations continued on social medial, too.

At the head of Indonesia’s winning charge was Jovita Elizabeth. The 1.74m forward top-scored for the victors with 24 points on top of 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists as they upended Malaysia, 74-54. Her post-game Instagram upload was filled with gratitude for the blessings that have come her and her team’s way.

Thankyou God for blessing me much more than i deserve🙏🏻 #blessed #fibaU18asia

Jovita’s teammate, Dewa Ayu Made Sriartha Kusuma, also chimed in, posting a picture with the Indonesians all smiles as the feeling of triumph and an opportunity to make it to Level I sank in.

    1st in Level II, 5-0 record, Level l promotion chances! 👆🇮🇩 #fibau18asia

17-year-old Jesslyn Rasali was the only player who was not fielded in for Indonesia on Day 5, but that did not dampen her spirits one bit. The 1.69m point guard shared in the joy of her team with a simple IG post.

"When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results." 💪 #blessed #fibau18asia

Even FIBA Asia columnist Enzo Flojo (Asia on My Mind) chimed in and recognized Indonesia’s otustanding play in Level II.

Naturally, the Indonesia Basketball Association watched the game closely and gave their own emphatic congratulatory message after the U18 ladies were named the Level II champions.
