FIBA U18 Women's Asian Championship Groupings announced

BENGALURU (FIBA U18 Women's Asian Championship 2018) -The Division A & B of the FIBA U18 Women's Asian Championship 2018 has been announced.

There are sixteen (16) teams split into two Divisions, A & B. Each Divison has eight teams who are equally distributed into groups of two. The teams have been paired on the basis of their current FIBA World Ranking Youth Women in Asia & Oceania.

Division A Groupings

Group A: Australia, Korea, Chinese Taipei and Indonesia
Group B: China, Japan, New Zealand and Malaysia

Division B Groupings

Group A: India, Singapore, Guam and Iran
Group B: Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Syria and Samoa

The top four teams from Division A will qualify for the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2019, while the winner of Divison B will earn promotion to Division A for the next edition of FIBA U18 Women's Asian Championship.

The tournament is set to tip off in Bengaluru, India on 28th October and will conclude on 3rd November.
