BENGALURU (FIBA U16 Women's Asia Championship 2017) - Hosts India had to rally in the second half to hold back a gritty Malaysia, 64-48, and earn promotion to Division A.

To nobody's surprise at all, Vaishnavi Yadav once again displayed game-long brilliance for India, hitting 14 points, collaring 12 rebounds and getting 7 steals as the hosts completed a sweep of all their Division B games.

On the other end of the floor, Wong Zi Wei and Tricia Ng were the leading protagonists for Malaysia with 14 points for the former and 10 points along with 14 rebounds for the latter.

India seemed poised to cruise to another easy victory after leading at the end of the first quarter, 15-3, but Malaysia made some adjustments and last threatened at 34-31 midway through the third quarter before India regained complete control of the match.
