"We are excited to begin our journey to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 with the first test being the FIBA AmeriCup 2017," said Roy Rana, Head Coach. "We are thankful for the opportunity to represent our country, look forward to competing for an Americas Championship and build towards November with an even deeper pool of talent."
The FIBA AmeriCup 2017 will be played from August 25 to September 3, 2017 and brings together America's best 12 men's national teams.
Canada will travel to Bahía Blanca, Argentina to be part of Group B and will take on the Virgin Islands on August 27 before facing Argentina and Venezuela to conclude the group phase.
The top team from the group along with Argentina, as main organizer, will qualify to the Semi-Finals of the FIBA AmeriCup 2017 in Cordoba, Argentina on September 2.
