CAIRO (Egypt) - Algeria currently enjoy the top spot on the table for the FIBA U16 African Championship.

Of the four games played, Algeria have won three and lost one. Monday's Day 4 action saw Algeria dispatch Uganda 69-30 courtesy of Adam Bouzidi's 19 points, three rebounds and one assist.

Despite the efforts of Emmanuel Junior Omara who finished with eleven points, nine rebounds, Algeria proved the better side.

Mali and Egypt sit in second and third place respectively with three wins from three games and six points apiece for now.

The last game of Day 4 was no doubt an exciting one as Mali stalled the ambitions of Cote d'Ivoire with a victory of 93-59 points win.

The victory improved Mali to 3-0 but it did not stop Cote d'Ivoire's small forward Dominique Diomande from stealing the spotlight.

The France-based player recorded a game-high of 29 points, 13 rebounds, two assists on the night. His teammate Ibrahim Oumar Doumbia added 22 points, 1 rebound, seven assists.

However, Mali's Mallick Diallo, who scored six points on the night, may not have done much to increase the points for his team but his 19 rebounds, seven assists went a long way in halting the Ivorians.

The battle for Semi-Final spots continues Tuesday with Gabon taking on Uganda, Mali face Algeria and Egypt versus Chad.
